Self-Portrait for Comic Short Story/Because I wanted to try it

Actually, originally I just happened to be doing a self-portrait sketch and then I discovered it was an assignment for my summer class. So that's what this ended up being for.
I don't really like it. But I just kind of hate doing self-portraits/analyzing myself. Haha!

Kaitlin McFartly

Try not to have your mind blown by that photoshop job, hahaha.

You know what I should do next?
Post last semester's work...

Kittens inspired by kittens.

The "worst" one so far in terms of time spent on it/crazy things happening in the image, but you know what?
I LOVE IT.
IT'S SO NICK.

What to do when you're sick of finals and you just want to draw again.

Make portraits of Jameson accidentally!

The semester is over in less than a week. Then, maybe I'll think about posting my work from this semester.

P.S. I like this drawing more than I thought I would.

Drawing 2: Final

One of my two finals for Drawing 2
This is the traditional self-portrait- the non-traditional has a lot of set-up, so if I do ever post it, it will be awhile... I need a lot of space and time.
This drawing felt like it took a million years... I like it, though. ALL LINE. NO SHADING.

Image 2: Detail of mouth
Image 3: Detail of hair

And finally catching up on Drawing 2 Documentation from last semester

A color gesture; 10 minutes
I don't really like this drawing.
I did a warm tone one on pinkish paper that I liked better, but I can't find it... I'm 98% sure my teacher has it, but she claims she doesn't... Ah well.

I'm incredibly far behind on my documentation!

All of these images are really huge if you click on them: I have them print-ready.
What I did was leave the lens of my camera open for about 10-15 seconds, turn off all the lights so the room was pitch black, then shine a flashlight on my own face as I moved around the room. It was a fun process; not the most incredible photos, but I had fun taking them.

I have A LOT of work to catch up on posting, including an enormous 12-image project from my 2D class a couple weeks ago. So you have that to look forward to. Or not look forward to. Whatever.

Just some portraits of some beautiful people

First two: Elaina Lordan. My favoritest bitching partner.
Last two: The Fleals. My favoritest partner for everything except bitching because that job belongs to Elaina.

Jacquelyn

Another oversized image....
For my Media I class. The assignment was to show a change over time for the all school Space-Time project.
And Jackie is just a little pretty. JUST A LITTLE.

Still Practicing......

This Weekend in its Various Forms

First off, here's a couple images of two things I made on Friday.
The second image is a collage/multimedia painting.
Image one is an interesting thing to me that I decided to post even though I normally wouldn't. The thing about this drawing is that I was just practicing drawing and painting in the pop surrealist style for several hours on Friday night, but this particular doodle/sketch somehow ended up getting a lot of attention, and I think for something that started out as a practice doodle, it actually turned out pretty good. So... here it is. Drawn using oil pastels.

Also, this weekend was/is ultimate arts weekend in Minneapolis, with festivals including Fringe, Loring, Uptown, Powderhorn, et cetera. So yeah. There was a lot of stuff to do this past weekend. OH and new exhibitions at various museums, interactive galleries, et cetera.

Too many words.
